OnTime & Digital Sovereignty

OnTime CEO Jens Overgaard Dinesen recently appeared on Charles Cabouret’s podcast to share his perspective on digital sovereignty and the shifting conversation around cloud infrastructure.

Jens founded OnTime Calendar, which started in Denmark and has since scaled globally.

The discussion around the cloud is beginning to shift. For years, the message was simply to move to the cloud. Today, more organisations are starting to ask what happens if they cannot.

Public institutions, large companies, and municipalities are increasingly thinking about Plan B, and some are even exploring moving away from cloud setups altogether.

Jens put it very simply:
sovereignty = independence. Not being stuck.
What I found interesting is that even people who say they’re “all-in on cloud” still want a fallback.

Which kind of says everything.

We also touched on:

  • Why European cloud vendors are coming back into the conversation
  • How cloud costs are becoming less predictable
  • How AI may strengthen dependencies on major platforms

Jens offers his perspective on how organisations are beginning to rethink flexibility and independence in their digital infrastructure.
